Day 2 - OMAGH & DERRY
Tour to Enniskillen, visit the Castle Museum then on to Omagh and
the Ulster American Folk Park. Continue to the 5th century walled city of Derry
for overnight.
Day 3 - DERRY
Walk around the city founded
by St. Columcille. Visit Doherty Tower and the Derry City Museum. Spend
the rest of the day exploring this
fascinating city. Overnight in Derry.
Day 4 - ANTRIM COAST
Tour along the Antrim coast to the Giant's Causeway. This
impressive area of hexagonal columns was
formed over 60 million years ago by cooling lava and has given rise
to many legends as the basalt resembles giant steps. Overnight in Portrush or Bushmills.
Day 5 - GLENS OF ANTRIM
You can stop at Bushmills Distillery which is the world's oldest
whiskey distillery, having received a license in
1608. Dunluce Castle is also on
your route today. Continue along the coast road to admire the spectacular views
of the "Nine Glens of Antrim." Overnight
in Carnlough.
Day 6 - BELFAST
Tour to Carrickfergus and along Belfast Lough to the capital city of
Northern Ireland - Belfast. Enjoy a day of exploration of the capital city of Northern Ireland.
Enjoy the sights of Belfast City.
Overnight in Belfast.
Day 7 - LISBURN & DOWNPATRICK
Travel south to Lisburn and the Irish Linen Center to see the recreation
of Ulster's greatest industry during the 19th century. On to Downpatrick to visit
Down Cathedral which is the reputed burial place of St. Patrick, Ireland's patron
saint. Continue your scenic drive through County
Down, viewing the beautiful Mountains of Mourne. Overnight
in Newcastle area.
Day 8 -BOYNE VALLEY & DUBLIN
Tour along the coast to Newry and return to the Irish Republic. Enjoy a
scenic drive to one of Europe's great archaeological mysteries at the Boyne Valley Center. There are three burial tombs that predate the pyramids of Egypt - Newgrange, Knowth & Dowth neolithic burial tombs. Your tour finishes upon arrival
in Dublin. .
